Donate Blood , Save Lives: We Care, We Share and Meliá Yangon Host Successful Blood Donation Campaign

In the quiet corridors of general hospitals across the country, hundreds of patients face a critical reality every day: their recovery and survival depend on the availability of blood. Whether it is for emergency surgeries, cancer treatments, or chronic illnesses, the need for blood is urgent and constant.
Recognizing this vital need, the “We Care, We Share” initiative by Myanmar Plaza joined forces with Meliá Yangon Hotel for a collaborative blood donation campaign under the powerful theme: “Donate Blood, Save Lives!”

A Collective Heroism
The campaign, held in coordination with the National Blood Center (NBC), saw an inspiring turnout from the local business community and the public. A total of 175 donors stepped forward to contribute to the national reserves, including:
• Dedicated team members from We Care, We Share (Myanmar Plaza).
• Staff and management from Meliá Yangon Hotel.
• Selfless volunteers and visitors who answered the call to give.
By facilitating this event, we aimed to bridge the gap between the rising demand in hospitals and the supply available at the National Blood Bank, ensuring that life-saving resources are ready when every second counts.

The Impact of Your Donation
A single blood donation can save up to three lives. For the patients currently waiting in hospital beds, these 175 donations represent more than just medical supplies—they represent hope, a second chance, and a source of strength to keep fighting.
“There is no substitute for human blood. By coming together as a community, we are not just donating a resource; we are sharing the gift of life itself with those who need it most.”
A Noble Aspiration
The “We Care, We Share” team and our partners at Meliá Yangon are deeply humbled by the generosity of everyone who participated. It is our sincere hope that this collective effort brings relief to patients and their families, and that the pain and suffering of those in need may be released as a result of this goodness.
