At HAGL Myanmar, we believe that sustainable community development begins with supporting the growth, health, and education of our youth. Through our dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform, “We Care, We Share,” we continuously strive to identify pressing local challenges and implement practical, long-term solutions.
On July 28, 2026, our team embarked on a targeted community outreach mission across East Dagon Township in the Yangon Region, visiting four local educational institutions to upgrade essential infrastructure and improve daily learning conditions for hundreds of students.
Addressing the Challenge: Sustainable Solutions for Clean Water
For children to thrive in an academic environment, reliable access to safe drinking water is a fundamental requirement. However, for many under-resourced schools, securing clean water remains a persistent operational and financial obstacle.
Many facilities rely heavily on purchasing 15-to-20-litre commercial water bottles daily—an ongoing expense that places a severe strain on limited operational budgets. To alleviate this burden, HAGL Myanmar stepped in to engineer and install localized, long-term water purification systems that protect student health while permanently reducing school operating costs.
Key Highlights from East Dagon Township
During the drive, our team visited government primary schools, a monastic school, and a nunnery education center, tailoring our support to the specific needs of each facility:
- Chan Thar Aung Nunnery Education Center: Installed a clean water purification unit to guarantee daily safe drinking water, and replaced worn-out classroom equipment with new, large whiteboards.
- Aye Yeik Thar Monastic Education School: Installed a clean water purification unit, provided solar lights for uninterrupted learning during blackouts, and wall-mounted and AC/DC rechargeable fans to keep study spaces comfortable
- No. (26) Basic Education Post-Primary Branch School: Repaired and reinstalled a damaged Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification system, alongside donating brand-new whiteboards to enhance teaching environments.
- No. (10) Basic Education Post-Primary School: Equipped the facility with new water purification machines to provide a dependable, continuous supply of clean drinking water.
Community Connection: Employee-Led Support
In addition to corporate infrastructure investments, HAGL Myanmar team members exemplified our corporate culture of compassion by voluntarily pooling personal contributions to distribute 1,000 fresh loaves of bread to students across all four locations—bringing immediate joy and nourishment to the children throughout the day.
