When a family member falls ill, the emotional and financial burden can be overwhelming. For many families traveling from rural areas to seek specialized treatment in the city, the challenge is amplified by poor living conditions and the daunting cost of medical care. In these trying times, the support of the community becomes a vital lifeline.
Driven by our core mission to uplift those in need, the “We Care, We Share” initiative recently visited Yangon Eastern Hospital to provide direct financial and nutritional assistance to patients and frontline staff.
Direct Medical Financial Aid
The team identified 30 patients who had traveled from various parts of the country to receive treatment. To help alleviate the stress of medical expenses, a life-saving donation of 100,000 Kyat was presented to each patient.
For these individuals, many of whom are far from home and facing uncertain recoveries, this contribution represents more than just financial relief—it is a gesture of solidarity and hope.
Nutritional Support During the Summer Heat
Understanding the physical toll that the hot season takes on recovering patients, our team also focused on hydration and nutrition across the hospital wards:
• Purified Drinking Water: Distributed packs to ensure patients have access to clean, safe hydration.
• Soy Milk Drinks: Provided nutritional packs to bolster the strength of those undergoing treatment.
Honoring Hospital Support Workers
We recognize that a hospital stays running thanks to the tireless efforts of its support service workers. To show our gratitude for their dedication, the team provided:
• A 20,000 Kyat donation to support workers.
• Refreshments, including soy milk and purified water, to keep them energized throughout their shifts.
The Power of a Smile
The most rewarding part of the day was witnessing the appreciative smiles on the faces of the recipients. For the “We Care, We Share” team, the joy of making a noble effort toward saving lives is the greatest motivation.
“Seeing the impact of these small acts of kindness reinforces our commitment. It inspires us to continue our charitable endeavors and to donate even more generously in the future.”
At HAGL Myanmar, we believe that when we share the burden of others, we create a stronger, more compassionate society.
