In the wake of the recent earthquake that struck the Mandalay region, leaving a trail of destroyed homes and injured citizens, the “We Care, We Share” initiative mobilized an extensive two-day relief mission. With a deep sense of urgency and sympathy, our team traveled to the heart of the affected areas to provide direct financial aid, life-saving medical equipment, and essential supplies to those facing their most difficult hour.
Through a massive collective effort, a total donation of MMK 63,449,000 was contributed. This included 35,000,000 MMK from the “We Care, We Share” initiative, alongside generous contributions from the business owners at Myanmar Center, retailers at Myanmar Plaza, and our partner organization, MLBB Myanmar.

Day 1: Specialized Medical Support (April 5, 2025)
The first phase of our mission focused on those with the most severe physical injuries. In the afternoon, the team visited the 500-bedded Orthopedic Specialist Hospital in Mandalay.
• Financial Encouragement: We provided 15.7 million MMK in direct cash assistance to 157 patients who sustained serious injuries during the earthquake. Each patient received 100,000 MMK to assist with their immediate needs and recovery.
• Critical Infrastructure: To ensure the hospital remains functional during power instabilities, we donated a 10 KVA generator and a 50-liter capacity water purifier through the Hospital Superintendent.
Day 2: Community Outreach and Emergency Aid (April 6, 2025)
On the second day, our team expanded efforts to reach displaced families and township healthcare facilities.
Support for Displaced Families
We visited the rescue camp at Mahagandhar Yone Monastery and Seitthayar Village, where many homes along the river had collapsed.
• Food and Essentials for 700 People: We distributed ready-to-eat meals and basic supplies to 600 people at the monastery camp and 100 residents in Seitthayar Village to ensure no one went hungry.
• Direct Cash Assistance: To help those facing the most difficult losses, we provided 100,000 MMK each to 41 individuals who were either injured or had lost a family member (totaling 4.1 million MMK).
Supporting Local Healthcare
Our team also visited Amarapura Township Public Hospital to help patients and boost the hospital’s emergency resources.
The team concluded the mission by bolstering the capacity of the local township hospital:
• For Patients: We gave 100,000 MMK each to 17 patients currently receiving treatment.
• For the Hospital: A donation of 2 million MMK was made for medical funds. We also delivered a generator, a water purifier, and an oxygen concentrator to help the hospital handle emergencies during this crisis.

A Collective Act of Kindness
The scale of this disaster required a unified response. We are profoundly grateful to the partners and tenants of Myanmar Plaza and the Myanmar Center who stood with us to make this 63.4 million MMK donation possible.
“This collective act of kindness is shared with all beings. It is our deepest hope that these efforts provide effective relief and a path to recovery for the people of Mandalay.”
At HAGL Myanmar, we remain dedicated to the resilience of our community. As Mandalay begins to rebuild, “We Care, We Share” will continue to advocate for the safety and well-being of all those affected.
